The Companies

The Cuomo Theatre Fund is built on a partnership between three of Portland's most respected independent theatre companies, each bringing a distinct identity and role to the collaboration. Together, they form an ecosystem where student artists, emerging artists and working artists are supported from resource lab to studio to stage.

CoHo Productions has long been a champion of artist-driven projects that spotlight local talent, bringing fresh, original stories to the stage. Through the Resource Center, the company offers affordable access to equipment, workspace, and infrastructure for individual artists and small organizations. Through a co-production model designed to center artists who are low-income or from underserved communities, CoHo dramatically expands who can create and present new work.

Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble thrives at the intersection of bold experimentation and powerful storytelling. Known for their innovative approach and risk-taking spirit, PETE is constantly redefining what theatre can be, creating immersive experiences that challenge traditional narratives and form. With the new studio space, their Institute for Contemporary Performance has grown to its largest cohort in its 13-year history, and alumni contribute to nearly every major theatre organization in the Portland metro area.

Third Rail Repertory Theatre brings to life exceptional stories that provoke dialogue, encourage empathy, and inspire curiosity. A vital member of Portland's arts landscape, their productions often explore complex themes and dynamic human relationships, creating experiences that linger with audiences long after the final curtain. The NW Raleigh building gives Third Rail a permanent home with dedicated rehearsal and office space for the first time in the company's 21-year history.
