About the Companies

In 2022, three small nonprofit theatre companies with strong ties to Philip and dependence on the NW Raleigh Building for their work - Third Rail Repertory Theatre, PETE (Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble), and CoHo Productions - formed a partnership dedicated to working with the Cuomo Theatre Fund to accomplish what none of us could do alone: complete the purchase and guide the NW Raleigh Building's expansion into a vibrant arts incubator.

Third Rail Repertory Theatre

Third Rail Repertory Theatre brings to life exceptional stories that provoke dialogue, encourage empathy, and inspire curiosity. A vital member of Portland's arts landscape, their productions often explore complex themes and dynamic human relationships, creating experiences that linger with audiences long after the final curtain. For the first time, Third Rail will have a permanent theatre home with dedicated office and rehearsal space under one roof.

CoHo Productions

CoHo Productions has long been a champion of artist-driven projects that spotlight local talent, bringing fresh, original stories to the stage. Through the Resource Center and co-production model, CoHo provides theatrical opportunities to artists who are low-income and from underserved communities, dramatically enriching Portland's artistic landscape.

PETE (Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble)

PETE thrives at the intersection of bold experimentation and powerful storytelling. Known for their innovative approach and risk-taking spirit, PETE is constantly redefining what theatre can be, creating immersive experiences that challenge traditional narratives and form. Joining the Cuomo Theatre will provide PETE with a new studio space for their rigorous training programs and performances.
